Microsoft announces upcoming features and also Windows 10 update
Well, it turns out that Redmond held back some big announcements for its Gamescom event in Cologne, Germany.
Microsoft have also confirmed that the Xbox One, the only current next-generation console to offer backward compatibility for free, will get the new feature November. But Microsoft also released a new character for the fighting game today – Rash from Battletoads. So essentially, if you have an Xbox One you will be getting four free games a month.
The DVR features, set to roll out next year, will let Xbox One users record live over-the-air TV, schedule recordings and side-load shows to mobile devices for on-the-go viewing, Microsoft announced Tuesday at Gamescon 2015.
Guardians Limited Edition Bundle contains a 1TB version of the console adorned in Halo-esque designs, inspired by Spartan Locke and UNSC technology. Many people can play it. You see your character, and you see their personality.
Microsoft also emphasized their commitment to Windows 10 as a gaming platform. In fact, this might be the first Xbox presentation to actually make me consider buying an Xbox One – particularly when they update to Windows 10. Xbox One users will still need to spring for a separate hard drive that connects to the console via USB to enable the coming DVR option. The Xbone will act as a DVR for over-the-air TV broadcasts, and it will be able to stream recorded content to mobile devices. The trick to achieving backwards compatibility on a completely different hardware architecture: creating a virtual Xbox 360 that runs on the Xbox One. Ashmore also appeared on stage to discuss the game and its digital series companion, then Remedy’s creative director Sam Lake revealed that the ambitious third-person shooter game will come out on April 5, 2016.
Xbox’s Gamescom 2015 press conference wouldn’t be complete if there wasn’t some new Halo news, and whew, did Microsoft Studios and 343 Industries deliver.
