Microsoft apologises for Surface Pro 4, Surface Book glitches

“As customer demand for our Surface devices continues to be extremely strong, our priority is to deliver the very best program for our partners and customers”, said Tina Flammer, product marketing lead Surface at Microsoft Australia. The Surface Pro 4 is its major competitor and successor model of the last year’s Surface Pro 3.

Despite all its brilliance, Surface devices-not only the Surface Pro-have suffered from issues which had people trooping to Microsoft’s website to air their grievances out.

Microsoft says it is continuing to work on fixes for issues experienced by early Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 adopters.

The Microsoft Surface Book is the brand’s first laptop, and Surface Pro 4 is the latest addition to the Surface series. The Surface Pro series was successful in their sales because they offered convenience for those who could not be bothered with carrying around a laptop, but needed something more powerful than a normal tablet.

At it its current price (starting at $1,500), the Surface Book may not be cheap enough for consumers who are used to paying well under $1,000 for a Windows laptop.

Microsoft’s John_F assured customers that the company is listening to complaints.

By default, pressing the pen button will open Microsoft OneNote; a double-click will take a screenshot; and holding the button will open digital personal assistant “Cortana”. The multitasking features in OS 9 make flawless sense for devices with large screens, but they let users see only two apps at a time.

Of course, the success of Windows 10 Mobile does not depend on Universal apps alone. Microsoft has stated that the devices are now not in “the deepest sleep they can be”, leading to serious drain when programs are left running in the background.

The rumored flagship is reported to be developed by Panos Panay, along with the team of engineers that were responsible for the Microsoft Surface as well as the Surface Book. The buyers started to report a bunch of issues in the Microsoft official forum. ‘Please know that we’re reading your comments and hearing you loud and clear. “Your input is incredibly valuable in helping us address your questions with timely updates and fixes”, reads the apology.
