Last year also, Nadella was in India for Christmas and New Year. “We are also inviting some other dignitaries”.
On a private visit to Hyderabad, Nadella visited the facility located at the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Hyderabad.
Nadella, who flies to India quite frequently, is on an annual vacation and during this time he will visit the startup incubator T-hub and Microsoft development centre in Hyderabad.
“Nadella has requested us to keep his visit to T-Hub a low-key affair”. This will be Nadella’s second visit to the city where he grew up, after taking over as the head of the global software giant a year ago.
It has cost approximately INR 40 crores to built T-hub which is approximately 70,000 sq ft facility constructed on the IIT-H campus and the facility was launched last month to create the much-needed ecosystem for startups, providing them technology and business mentorship.
Nadella is expected to meet Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
Microsoft has had its India Development Centre here since 1998. The state government will partner with the giant search engine in fields of education, citizen services and agriculture.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella will today sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Andhra Pradesh, in order to establish a technologically advanced and knowledge-based economy for the state. The 47-year-old, during his first visit in September last year, had met Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. The technology will act as a major catalyst for achieving sustainable growth and better public services, as per a statement from the chief minister’s office. Nadella further promised to visit Anantapur District during his next visit.
