Microsoft Expands Cortana’s functionality with LinkedIn
Update offers kind of creepy level of intelligence on who’s coming to that coffee.
Windows has a long and proud history of letting you tweak the interface to get it just the way you like it, but with this Windows 10 feature you can just change the desktop background to get a completely new look. Cortana manages calendar reminders, searches for important files, provides weather information and even tracks USP packages, not to mention that it also chats with users and tells jokes, making the digital assistant even more personal.
Microsoft has already started rolling out the feature globally, so once it hits your Windows 10 system, you will be able to leverage the LinkedIn integration features. This includes a photograph, job role and company, among a direct link to their online profile.
The integration is effectively that of Cortana and LinkedIn, with business users now having the ability to do a bit of revision ahead of meetings. Despite the marketing strategies and innovative features, the operating system has seen slow user share growth, appreciably in the month of September, but to a surprise, the Windows 10 has now more than 110 million customers, especially by the month’s end. Although the strategy makes it easier for users to upgrade when they’re ready, users were upset as the 3 to 6GB downloads took up precious storage on their machines, and the downloads were said to also occur on metered connections, which cost money. The virtual assistant already connects with Office 365, which it uses to gather information and provide insights about work relationships, meetings and documents. Today, Microsoft is expanding Cortana’s functionality with LinkedIn. From here, users can log in with their LinkedIn account.
