Microsoft goes big on Halo with World Championships, Halo Wars 2
And while that was still the case at the Xbox GamesCom briefing today with lots of new trailers, other software – namely Windows 10 – also featured heavily. Microsoft managed to cram a bunch of info into its Gamescom presentation this morning, including expected highlights like Scalebound, Crackdown and plenty of news about the Halo universe and its upcoming games.
The FPS Battlefield series is also well-known for destructibility, especially its latest entry Battlefield 4 (PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC) released in 2013 which coined the term “levolution”. Games can for instance use her to check on friend status without leaving a game. The user interface is still game centric and optimized to be used with a gaming controller. The Xbox Chatpad is now up for pre-order, for $34.99, and is scheduled to ship in November.
One of the newest announcements is that Halo War 2 will be coming out in 2016. While the jury still deliberates on whether it has succeeded or not (and some already think it has), Microsoft continues to throw more and more goodies to the gaming public.
The big news was that the Windows 10 upgrade – which Microsoft promised would be coming to Xbox – has been confirmed for November. Paying to get third-party exclusives can be costly in the long run, perhaps even more so than developing games made primarily for a certain console.
The 2 TB hard drive, embossed with the logos of Seagate and Microsoft, plugs right into the USB ports on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles.
“With Halo 5 we are delivering massive scale environments, improved AI behavior, increased visual and gameplay fidelity, something that truly takes advantage of a new platform”. The only expense is buying an Xbox One digital TV tuner to allow this to work.
What’s more, besides showcasing the multiplayer mode, together with its Arena and Warzone game types, 343 Industries also boasted the eSports nature of Halo 5: Guardians.
