Microsoft likely to launch new Surface Phone at IFA event
There have been several reports saying that Microsoft is planning to release multiple devices this year or in 2017.
This is because Microsoft is scheduled to showcase the upcoming Surface Pro 5, their signature tablet device, in October. And as the year is almost about to end, many rumors going online suggesting that the Microsoft Surface Phone will be unveiled during the IFA 2016.
The yearly event, which is scheduled to run until September 7, is known to highlight new consumer electronics releases.
It looks like the wait for the highly rumored Microsoft Corporation’s (NASDAQ:MSFT) Surface Phone could soon be over, as credible sites have backed the software giant to release its next generation smartphone devices during the upcoming IFA 2016 event. With Samsung’s latest installment, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, and Apple’s upcoming smartphone, the iPhone 7, fans are now getting pretty anxious to know who will come out to the top with the strongest flagship.
Good news for all those concerned with the Surface Phone’s camera as it will be equipped with a 21 MP rear camera with Carl Zeiss lens and 8 MP front camera with triple LED flash.
If the rumored specifications of the upcoming Surface Phone turn out to be true, then there is a high chance that Microsoft could take the smartphone world by storm. According to reports, this may be due to the fact that the release of the much awaited phone could create less impact than what the tech giant company would want for the new smartphone. Intel is no longer working on mobile processors and this makes it likely that the Surface Phone will be powered by the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor.
iTech Post said in an article that the Microsoft Surface Phone will come with a 5.5 inch AMOLED display screen.
It is also expected that the device will come with an improved hinge as the said part of the current device, also known as the fulcrum hinge, failed to get the nod of many of its users because of the problems it causes. The base unit of the new Surface Phone is said to carry 3 GB of RAM paired with 32 GB of storage capacity, while the mid-range variant is expected to have 6 GB of RAM along with 128 GB storage.
