Microsoft Lumia 650 Release Date and Specifications
Microsoft company has also induced voice assistant Cortana in this new Lumia 650. One of the biggest surprises with the Lumia 650’s launch however, was that it doesn’t feature the most notable feature of Windows 10 Mobile – Continuum – which allows users to connect the smartphone to a display and use it as a Windows 10 computer with a desktop-like interface.
So when Microsoft announced the Lumia 650 without the much sought after feature, it indeed disappointed many who would have been prospective buyers of the same.
Microsoft is yet to officially reveal the exact date that the Windows 10 Mobile updates will be released for existing devices, although according to Microsoft Mexico this will happen this month. Microsoft had originally planned to roll out Windows 10 Mobile to its Windows Phone 8.1 devices at the end of last year, but in December, it said that owners of those handsets would have to wait until “early next year”.
However, things have been changing since then, as Microsoft has now been working in the direction of progress in the hardware sector.
Both models will be equipped ith a 20MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. Microsoft has been working on reducing the costs and the Lumia 550 is priced in at $139.
The Lumia 950 XL, on the other hand, will come with a larger 5.7-inch display screen with 1440 x 2560 resolution and 515ppi. However, the storage has been doubled, as the device comes out into the markets with 16GB of storage space. The smartphone runs on Windows 10 Mobile, but unfortunately lacks one of its best features, the Continuum. For $199, we don’t think you’ll find a better looking smartphone that the 650.
The Microsoft Lumia 640 XL features a Qualcomm MSM8226 Snapdragon 400 chipset with a quad-core Cortex A7 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, an Adreno 305 graphics card and 1GB of RAM.
