Microsoft Lumia 950 950XL to be launched on 30th November
When rumors about the device were fuelled back in 2012, Microsoft had only released Lumia Windows smartphones, the latest being the Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950 XL, which also serve as the tech firm’s flagships.
Launched in July, Windows 10, which automatically kept up-to-date with innovations and security updates, will be the last OS from Microsoft and will keep your devices running on the latest builds and versions of the OS for years to come. The company has reaffirmed that the new Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL will hit the shelves in the coming days.
The Lumia 950 has numerous attributes you’d expect from a high-end smartphone: a sharp camera, a nice screen, plenty of power, and good battery life.
The most secure Windows OS ever, Windows 10 also boasts of the new feature called Continuum, which optimizes apps and experiences beautifully and seamlessly across touch and desktop modes. Get your hands on the Lumia 950 today and tell us what you think. If you’ve seen a Lumia phone before, the 950 and 950 XL will look exceedingly familiar. The catchy thing about the smartphones would be the Continuum feature which when connected to a supported Display Dock beams all the apps to a larger screen.
Before upgrading to the new Build, Microsoft cautions Insiders to perform a backup of their phones. However there seems to be bigger plan on their radar and guess what it is the launch of the long impending – Microsoft Surface Phone! If Microsoft felt that this was a solid hardware introduction to the mobile possibilities of Windows 10, would the company limit its availability like this?
The screen on this phone is really great for reading, with a 2560X1440 resolution. These essential apps don’t exist on Windows Phone 8.1 and they still don’t exist on Windows 10 Mobile. Although its design is unusual, the Lumia 1020 handset impressed a lot of people from all kinds of backgrounds and demonstrated that smartphone photography is not just a hip idea with little professionalism involved. With the Lumia 950, Meteor Mobile is offering a free speaker and a free wireless charger in Ireland. There’s one major limitation: Continuum works only with universal apps for now, such as Outlook/Mail, Messaging, Word, Excel, and Calendar. It’s a quick way to unlock your phone in most cases, but it doesn’t feel quite as seamless as unlocking your device with a single touch of the home button. Desktop apps are set to be included in the Windows Store in the near future. In this regard, the Lumia 1050 camera is supposed to be a massive 50 MP sensor with variable aperture and a zoom lens. Critics also said the camera held up well against the excellent cameras in the iPhone 6S, Samsung Galaxy S6, and Nexus 6P. In one photo in particular, the Lumia made a spots on a banana look orange.
I was curious at how an older model Lumia would handle the changes.
Apps and games should download from the Store more reliably. But this is not a phone that is likely to win over new converts.
