Microsoft Releases Xbox One Game Streaming Feature for Windows 10

Earlier this year, Microsoft announced a feature for the Xbox One/Windows 10 in which gamers would basically be able to stream games played on their Xbox One onto their Windows 10 devices, like PCs and tablets.

An update for the Xbox One now allows gamers to stream titles from their Xbox One to a Windows 10 PC or tablet. On your Windows 10 PC or tablet, connect an Xbox Wireless controller with USB cable and then launch the Xbox app and navigate to Connect and connect your Xbox One console. It also pointed out that since backwards-compatibility became available for Preview members on June 15, participants in the program “have logged more than 30 million minutes” playing their Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One.

Once connected, you can pick a game out of your collection and then select Play from Console, or else just use the Xbox One native menu. The company has also enabled game streaming from consoles to PC running the latest version of its upcoming OS.

One thing to note is that the Xbox One is still essentially in use while streaming; a notification will appear on the system pointing out that streaming has begun, and it’ll look as if the console is being on the TV it’s plugged into. To enable game streaming on the Console, users need to navigate to Settings > Preferences > Allow game streaming to other devices, and ensure that the streaming is enabled.

Party Chat – Above the Friends list is a new option labeled Start a party (beta). Finally, select Play from Console and you’re golden. Consumers win too, as they can easily get involved in the Xbox world with some handholding. It will also add games that aren’t from the Windows Store and include an option to manually add PC games. The Featured games section has been updated so you can discover and install new and popular games available from the Store. You can now capture game clips and screenshots for non-Windows Store games and access them via Game DVR, On this PC, Open folder. Then click the camera icon, and select Save as gamerpic to make your new pic visible across Xbox on Windows 10 PCs and Xbox One.
