Microsoft Surface Pro 4, Surface Book: Know the specs
Whereas Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL are facing Wi-Fi connectivity issues just like old Surface tablets used to face, the Microsoft Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 face issues such as flickering screen.
Microsoft has been having a few teething issues with the new Surface devices, to the point where they are now issuing a public apology. While the Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) Surface Pro 4 is a competitor worthy of attention based on its predecessor’s merits alone, the Google Pixel C comes as a somewhat unpredictable, if not unexpected device in what is fast expanding past its previous niche market. Microsoft has acknowledged the problem and will be fixing the Sleep mode in a software update in early 2016. Microsoft has already fixed some of these, and it promises it is “working to issue additional updates and fixes as soon as possible”.
The tablet sells for $499 for the 32GB version and $599 for the 64GB version, a far cry from the iPad Pro starting at $799 for the 32GB model and as much as $949 for the 128GB model.
The dominant Microsoft surface line has been highly regarded because of its reasonable price for a combined tablet/PC device. There is no special path for Surface Pro 4 / Surface Book users to contact the company, so hopefully you can either wait until January or return your device if you’re unhappy with the product as it now exists.
“For those of you who’ve had a less-than-perfect experience, we’re sorry for any frustration this has caused”, the company said in a blog post. ‘Please know that we’re reading your comments and hearing you loud and clear. “Your input is incredibly valuable”.
The team also mentioned that they have aggressively pursued solutions for the most pressing issues, and a number of updates have been made, as we’ve seen. Thus until a fix is provided, owners of both devices are given the option of putting them into hibernate mode to keep the guzzling at a minimum.
