Midweek Preview – Leyton Orient vs Stevenage
Head coach Ian Hendon will come up against former West Ham colleague Teddy Sheringham and expects the visitors to play attractive football.
A 3-0 win at home to Stevenage maintained Orient’s perfect start to the campaign, with goals from Jay Simpson, Blair Turgott and Ollie Palmer earning the O’s all three points.
Hendon said: “We shared the same office last year, me and Teddy, so I’m looking forward to having a battle with him on Tuesday night”.
“Yet again we’ve had chances to get ourselves ahead in a game”.
“You could say there were positives to take from the game but we keep losing”.
“But it’s not about doing stuff for 45 or 55 minutes, it’s about doing it throughout a 90-minute game”. That’s the disappointing thing. You have to be clued in throughout.
“He’s gone to a good club there at Stevenage and we’ve all made those decisions with myself and Neil McDonald [former West Ham assistant manager] going up to Blackpool”. You’ve got to be very professional, resilient and switched on for 90 minutes. We were in good positions a lot of times today but didn’t make it count. “We got another quickly and thought we were comfortable and performed well on the day”.
“It’s tough to win football matches”.
