Miguel Cabrera (calf) goes on disabled list for first time in career

UPDATE: According to our own Craig Calcaterra, Cabrera has a Grade 3 calf strain and is expected to miss around six weeks. The Tigers have had some pretty superb talent during Dumbrowski’s tenure as GM, such as Miguel Cabrera, Justin Verlander, Max Scherzer, David Price, Doug Fister, Victor Martinez, Magglio Ordonez, Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez, among others, and have YET to win a World Series.

“It’s never good to have an inning like that, whether it is the first or the fifth”, said Dickey, who allowed five runs on 11 hits in 5 2/3 innings. He threw 6 1/3 scoreless innings on Thursday against Texas and struck out seven.
