Mike Francesa offers to sit with crying Mets fan at playoff game
The caller identified himself as Will and said he was from Queens and proceeded to cry on the air while urging Mets’ pitcher Matt Harvey to put the team on his shoulders in Game 3.
Will in Queens called in to Mike Francesa’s Sunday morning show to share his feelings about Chase Utley’s controversial takeout slide during Saturday night’s NLDS Game 2. The only question remaining is whether the sensitive Mets fan will shed more tears should the Mets lose Game 3 (or win for that matter) against the Dodgers.
“You be there at 8 o’ clock and you can sit with me for the game”, Francesa asked.
“Okay, I’ll be there”, Will responded sounding a bit emotional again.
It’s a class move by Francesa, who plans to sit with his guest.
“I’m going to wear my Harvey jersey and Mets hat”, Will said.
As for the kind gesture by Francesa on Monday, the long-time New York sports radio host was praised by those on social media.
A New York Mets fan cried on Mike Francesa’s show talking about the injury to Ruben Tejada.
