Mike Williams injury update
Several members of the coaching staff including Dabo Swinney have gone over to check on Williams who is still on the ground after hitting his upper body into the goal post.
Clemson receiver and National Football League prospect Mike Williams is headed to a hospital after suffering a neck injury early in the Tigers’ game today against Wofford.
Williams was moving his extremities as he was carted off the field. He remained on the field while receiving medical attention and was eventually carted off, though not before moving his extremities and raising his finger in the air to the Tigers crowd.
Watson capped a 12-play, 75-yard drive with a five-yard touchdown pass to Mike Williams for the Tigers’ first score of the season. The play was reviewed and Williams has his first touchdown (4-yards) of the year.
Williams had 57 catches for a team-high 1,030 yards and six touchdowns in 2014, and named second-team All-ACC by the media. No other immediate word as to the severity of the injury.
