Miko Grimes tells off Jay Glazer, delivers anti-Semitic rant
Miko Grimes deleted her Twitter account for a short time after the Dolphins released her husband, who has since been signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Along with the Twitter attack against her husband’s teammates, Miko Grimes was also arrested outside Dolphins Stadium for resisting arrest.
Miko Grimes tried to justify her “jew buddies” comment, stating that it was meant as a shot at Dolphins owner Stephen Ross and head of football operations Mike Tannenbaum and not at an entire religion. It’s a plainly antisemitic tweet, and she followed it up with what appears to be some 9/11 trutherism after she was called out for said antisemitism.
With emotions running high mere weeks after news of the the anti-Semitic “echo” and only days after Donald Trump’s Star of David mishap, the backlash against Miko Grimes was swift and unrelenting. That’s a fact! Why people find facts offensive is unusual to me.
The family of the late Dolphins owner Malcolm Glazer – Bryan, Edward and Joel Glazer and Darcie Glazer-Kassewitz – are the descendants of Jewish immigrants from Lithuania and lost family members in the Holocaust.
ESPN reported that the Buccaneers are aware of the tweet.
This gets a bit convoluted, so let us explain. Brent Grimes hasn’t yet played a game for the Bucs, and already his wife might have made things uncomfortable with the people who sign their checks.
You would think, now that Brent Grimes is with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, his wife, Miko, would be turning her attention to the new start her husband has on Florida’s west coast.
Maybe the “Jew” description is only meant as an insult if she is using it toward the Dolphins, given we won’t hear anything of this type when she is talking about Tampa.
At NFL owners meetings, Dolphins owner Stephen Ross acknowledged that Miko Grimes’ social media posts played a role in Grimes’ departure from Miami. “Lmao!!Why would i? Why would i want to offend “jewish” ppl???” she added.
“I think everybody knows what she represented”, Ross said to reporters. “We had met Miko and (Brent and) his family and have enjoyed every minute of it. I don’t see any problem”.
