Miles Bridges trims list to five schools
The Flint native who plays prep basketball in Huntington, W.Va., made the announcement on Twitter today, also including Kentucky, North Carolina and Indiana as possibilities. Both are prospects in the 2016 recruiting class. Bridges is a 6-foot-6 small forward.
The No. 14 overall player in the nation and the No. 3 small forward, according to 247Sports, is expected to make an official visit to MSU on September 12 for the football team’s big primetime game against Oregon.
“They talked to me about playing the three and some schools said I could even end up being a two if I continue to develop my ball-handling”, Bridges said.
On Michigan State: “It’s only 45 minutes away from my home and they are one of the first schools to recruit me”.
Below is what Bridges had to say to ESPN about each of the five schools individually. “But if I go to Kentucky or anywhere else, Cassius won’t go with me”.
Bridges is now ranked 24th in Rivals top 150, but that’s a ranking that will surely receive a significant bump when they get updated.
“I just started talking to Coach (Roy) Williams”.
This decision to cut the list comes after a dominating weekend at Nike’s Peach Jam, where he averaged 22.8 points and 10 boards in front of Spartans coach Tom Izzo, Michigan’s John Beilein and Kentucky’s John Calipari.
