Military, immigration divide GOP candidates at 4th debate
Carson, questioned why Clinton had not been subjected to a similar level of media scrutiny.
“I have no problem with being vetted”, Carson said.
As a method of combating further illegal immigration, the Apprentice star said that he would construct a wall along the 1,954-mile border that divides the two nations.
This is the first time the three-year-old attended a debate to watch her grandpa duke it out with seven other GOP contenders.
Robinson says he’s leaning toward voting for Florida Sen. Marco Rubio because he’s pushed for a path to citizenship.
Paul, though, argued Rubio’s plan isn’t conservative.
Rubio fired back: “I know that Rand is a committed isolationist. I’m not”, Rubio hit back. “I don’t have to hear from this man, believe me”. “But we cannot [raise the minimum wage] if we are going to compete with the rest of the world, we just can’t do it”. But something didn’t add up. It’s impossible to forget Rick Perry’s “oops” moment from 2011 when he wasn’t able to list the third agency he would eliminate during a Republican debate in MI.
The discipline of philosophy took a beating during the Republican presidential debate Tuesday, scorned in various ways by a few of the candidates.
“We’re a country of laws”. We need borders. We will have a wall. They built a ramp over the wall and the truck was going up and down. The wall will be successful. Would it work? It’s a silly argument. It is not an adult argument.
Kasich called it childish, provoking the night’s lone putdown when Trump petulantly said he was worth billions of dollars and didn’t have to listen to Kasich.
After a back and forth between Trump and Kasich, Bush tried to get a word in asking the moderators, “What happened to my time?”.
It was also clear every candidate knows they will likely face Hilary Clinton in the general election and wanted to define Clinton’s campaign as “more of the same” and a “third term” of the Obama administration.
Trump attracted a different crowd, to Wednesday morning’s Politics & Eggs event, a staple for presidential candidates in New Hampshire that typically draws only business professionals.
Mr. Trump said he and Mr. Carson have gotten along “very well”. This, then, is the Republican party’s official message to the tens of millions of American voters making less than $15 per hour: We will not raise your wages.
She added, “I have met [Putin] as well – not in a green room for a show, but in a private meeting”.
