New Delhi:Toyota Motor Corporation has recalled 6.5 million vehicles across the world, which includes its popular models Camry, Camry Hybrid, Corolla and the RAV4 SUV.
In an official statement, the company said that because of the faulty switch on the driver’s side, many claimed that the faulty switches lead the switches to melt, and sometimes because of that it also produced smoke and then potentially, lead to a fire, and sometime causing heavy damage to the vehicle.
Among the vehicles involved in the recall includes the 2007 and 2009 Camry and Camry Hybrid, 2009-2011 Corolla, 2008-2011 Highlander and Highlander Hybrid, 2009-2011 Matrix, 2006-2011 RAV 4, 2009-2011 Sequoia, 2009-2011 Tundra, 2006-2010 Yaris, 2009-2011 Scion xB and the 2009-2010 Scion xD. But cars caught up in the previous campaign will not be impacted by this recall, the company says.
Toyota dealers will inspect the switch and apply heat-resistant grease in order to fix the problem.
The video examines another recent-year Toyota recall. About 2 million of those vehicles are in the U.S., all involving the driver-side power window switch. If the switch is not working correctly, an internal circuit board will be replaced.
