‘Millionaire Matchmaker’ Bachelor Arrested for Attempted Murder
In the latest bit of bad publicity to plague the now canceled show, one of Patti’s former millionaires has been charged with battery against a woman.
Police were called to Bonavia’s Beverly Hills apartment after a neighbor heard the sounds of a struggle.
John Bonavia, 31, was arrested after Beverly Hills police found a woman with “significant facial and upper body injuries” when they responded to the 200 block of Spalding Drive on September 12, Beverly Hills Police Lt. Lincoln Hoshino said.
He’s being held without bail and faces one felony count each of domestic violence with great bodily injury and criminal threats, Hoshino said.
According to his biography posted on his personal website, Bonavia was born in Washington DC and grew up in Maryland in the family of a school principal.

And this isn’t Bonavia’s first brush with the law.
Police did not immediately say why he was on probation, but according to one report he was arrested in May 2014 after another woman accused him of punching and choking her.
“[Bonavia] ripped her shorts and proceeded to bite the side of her back and the side of her face”. He then turned her over and started to strangle her with both hands around her neck… “Fugate could not breathe and believed she was going to die”.
He was arrested again in November of previous year in Arlington, Virginia, on charges of drunk in public and curse and abuse.
But on September 12th of this year he was charged with brutalizing a woman, after a battered female was discovered at his property, according to TMZ.
“On September 3, Bernback was charged with eight felonies: forcible rape, rape by use of drugs, rape of an unconscious person, forcible oral copulation, sexual penetration by a foreign object, attempted sodomy by use of force, and two counts of administering a drug to commit rape, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office”. It features Patti Stanger setting up wealthy singles.
