Minecraft gets a Greek mythology-inspired mash-up pack
“Minecraft“, the game building simulator that lets fans make anything they want, now has a variety of Greek mythology-related downloadable content (DLC) for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
At this point, Minecraft is easily one of the best-selling and most popular video games ever created, and it shows no signs of slowing down, often featured on the top-selling games of the month lists, and continuously supported with content updates, DLC, and more.
Priced at £3.29 / €3.99, the “Greek Mythology Mash-Up Pack” includes 39 skins, a custom texture pack, a new user interface, Greek-inspired music and a custom map.
Furthermore, this new batch of DLC also boasts its own original soundtrack.
Gareth Coker’s most recent work and what you will most likely know him from is the soundtrack of Ori and the Blind Forest, however he’s worked on films such as What To Bring To America & Recoil. Along with the bug fixes, there are several new additions in-game like an Acacia version of wood, stairs, planks, doors, and fences, and other new materials added to the game’s creative menu. It’s interesting to see a more mythological presence in “Minecraft“, and it opens up the possibility for even more DLC packs in the future. The wide Minecraft modding community had successfully incorporated “Pokemon” and “The Hunger Games” into the Minecraft world. On the contrary, expect Minecraft’s prominence and popularity to only expand even further, with many new developments on the way, including HoloLens integration.
Greek Mythology mash-up pack is now available on PSN and Xbox marketplace, Mojang has announced.
Mods are also available from the Minecraft community.
