‘Minecraft: Story Mode’ now available
Minecraft: Story Mode allows players to choose dialog responses for Jesse during conversations, with their choices impacting Jesse’s relationships with other characters in the game, and the way the story ultimately unfolds, not only in this first episode, but in the entire series.
In this “adventure of a lifetime”, you play Jesse, who can either be a boy or girl depending on what you like. Gamers of Minecraft: Pocket Edition were essentially just always stuck in creative mode. Mojang has released the first episode of “Minecraft: Story Mode” on mobile platforms in addition to PlayStation, Xbox and Steam earlier this week.
“You and your friends revere the legendary Order of the Stone: Warrior, Redstone Engineer, Griefer, and Architect; slayers of the Ender Dragon”. When the game comes to an action sequence, players’ reflexes are tested as they must quickly respond to cues to help Jesse avoid danger. While at EnderCon in hopes of meeting Gabriel the Warrior, Jesse’s friends discover that something is wrong… something terrible. “Terror is unleashed, and you must set out on a quest to find The Order of the Stone if you are to save your world from oblivion”, the synopsis continues. The characters are voiced by such pop culture and gaming luminaries like Patton Oswalt (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D), Ashley Johnson (Tales From the Borderland), Scott Porter (Friday Night Lights), Corey Feldman (Goonies), Paul Ruebens (Peewee’s Playhouse) and many more. Decisions made in the first episode will affect the plot presented by “The Order of the Stone” and the next four episodes that will come after. Each game will likely cost $4.99 a piece and will be available as IAP’s, but Telltale will also offer the full series, that means all five episodes as a season pass for a little bit of a discounted price than if you bought each episode separately.
