Minneapolis Officers Involved in Fatal Shooting of Black Man Identified
He added that several officers sustained minor injuries after being hit by water bottles and rocks. He died a day later.

Police told of several incidents since the Sunday shooting, including objects being thrown at officers and several police cars sustaining serious damage.

When an elderly neighbor using a cane came out to plead for quiet at what she said was her bedtime, the crowd turned down the volume.
A number of protesters at the precinct Wednesday declined to speak with members of the media – including one woman dressed in University of Minnesota attire. Witnesses and activists initially claimed that the 24-year-old black man was handcuffed and unarmed.

Protesters are asking anyone with video of the shooting to give it to them, but investigators say this could hurt the investigation.
Superintendent Drew Evans of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said videos of the shooting do not show the entire incident and will not be released.
Police said Clark, a suspect in the assault, was interfering with medical workers trying to treat the victim, and was shot when he scuffled with police. But he pointed to a growing effort by the city and police to confront racial issues head on, to bring more officers of color on the force, and to create review boards to deal with police brutality.

It isn’t clear which officer fired the shot. The other officer is Dustin Schwarze. The state’s Bureau of Criminal Apprehension on… The two men have been with the Minneapolis Police Department a little over a year. Ringennberg joined the force after working in San Diego and two suburban departments for six years. Neither officer has received any awards or commendations as Minneapolis officers. The city didn’t immediately release disciplinary records.
However, their race wasn’t released because it’s private under state law.
Protesters had vowed to remain outside the 4th Precinct station near where the shooting occurred until authorities release any video. The officers said it was at that time that Clark tried to disarm one of the officers.
The officers, who have been placed on paid leave pending the outcome of the investigation, did not have dashboard or body cameras, Evans said at a televised news conference.
Police say the removal of the protesters was limited to clearing the entryway. The fire was quickly re-lit. Police have disputed that.
“This federal investigation will be conducted by the FBI and will be concurrent to the state’s investigation”.
Police in Minneapolis are taking down tents set up by protesters outside a north Minneapolis precinct following the weekend shooting of an unarmed black man. The department did run a pilot project, but it ended earlier this year.
According to Kroll, the officers said they ordered Clark to stop, or risk arrest. “Life without parole”, said Robinson. He was shot once in the head.
Instead, the BCA wants community members to turn video in to police first.

Was Clark handcuffed when he was shot?
Part of it stemmed from an open letter in which Hodges said a few officers “abuse the trust that is afforded to them, and take advantage of their roles to do harm rather than prevent it”.
She said she prays for them and wants justice, not revenge. She also says he was a peaceful, despite things being said about him.
“I’ve always wanted to get involved; this was the most straightforward way to do that”, she said.
When police arrived, guns drawn, they are said to have found Jamar Clark trying to prevent, or at least hindering, ambulance officers giving treatment to his partner.
According to Fox 9, Clark was taken off life support on Monday evening with his parents Irma Jean and James Hill by his bedside.
Evans said at the news conference that there were handcuffs at the scene and authorities were still investigating.
A key point at the center of the investigation is whether Clark was in handcuffs when he was shot. Police have said their preliminary investigation shows the man was not handcuffed, but the investigation is ongoing.
Mona Abdi, who originally hails from Nairobi, Kenya, says she worries about her two sons, aged eight and ten, who live in the same neighborhood where Clark was killed.
