Minnesota Wild Change Official Goal Song to Prince’s “Let’s Go Crazy”
Wild single-game tickets for the 2016-17 National Hockey League regular season go on sale at 9 a.m. September 24 at the Xcel Energy Center Box Office and at noon that day through Ticketmaster.
The team revealed plans to play Prince’s “Let’s Go Crazy” over the arena’s PA after a Wild player scores a goal.
The team chose to ask fans their opinion after using “Let’s Go Crazy!” during Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Playoff Series against the Dallas Stars in April, a few days after Prince died.
The team said it was chosen as the result of a fan survey, which voted about 2:1 in favor of the change.

The Wild previously used the song during last season’s playoffs, just shortly after Prince’s death.
The Wild’s first regular season home game is set for October 15 versus the Winnipeg Jets.
The vote in favor of changing the goal song was almost 2-to-1.
I’m not sure if the song has ever been used by a team before in this capacity, but if it hasn’t, it took too long for this to happen.
Go insane, folks. Go insane. It checks a lot of boxes, on top of it being performed by a local icon. It’s not a temporary gesture: The song will be the official goal song for the foreseeable future. Back in the mid-1990s, the National Hockey League used the song for its “Get Cup Crazy” add campaign to promote the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
