Minor change made to charges against mom in drowning deaths
Sheborah Thomas, 30, had been set to appear in court but remained in the Harris County Jail undergoing a mental health evaluation, attorney Alvin Nunnery said after the hearing. Her boss told ABC13 that he hired Sheborah two months ago, but was forced to let her go two weeks ago after an argument. Thomas said she caught a ride to the shelter but her friend and Kayiana fell asleep at the bus stop, which is when the passerby saw them. Thomas then reportedly attempted to dig a hole to place the bodies in, but could not create a big enough space.
The source said that Thomas had pulled her life together after the 2012 loss of her children to the state.
Court filings from July 2016 also suggest Jermaine Anderson, the father of Thomas’ 12-year-old child, began to express concerns she had started using drugs again.
But a few days later everything changed.
They made a decision to part ways and say Thomas showed up at the restaurant this past Saturday and described her behavior as erratic.
The father of the two slain children, Danny Ray Thomas, is now incarcerated on a drug possession offense, but was said to be devastated upon learning of the murders of his children. She then placed their bodies in a trashcan, moving them the next day to a spot underneath a neighbor’s house – after she returned from The Little Cajun Kitchen.
Smith says “all indications are she is the one who acted alone” in the killing of her 7-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter, whose bodies were found under a neighbor’s house Sunday.
Armando Selgo, owner of the house Thomas allegedly rolled the bodies of her children under, expressed his sadness and disbelief at what Thomas purportedly did.
CPS documents stated the Thomas’ mother “is very protective of Kayiana and Araylon Thomas and will not allow any [Thomas or their father] to remove them from her residence”.
Surveillance footage shows Wesley and Thomas heading outside to talk.
When the man asked about her kids, she calmly said she had killed them, said Houston police spokesman Kese Smith.
The man told the police officers in Houston, Texas that he had thought Thomas was “joking”. He loaded up her stuff in his truck to help her move.
Wesley says he threatened to call the police when Thomas became irate and she eventually left, without the money that she wasn’t due to receive until Monday.
Houston police say Thomas also has a 12-year-old son, but he was with his father. The Los Angeles Times reported she had “several misdemeanor convictions, including theft and failure to identify oneself to an officer”. They say she has no known history of mental illness.
Sheborah Thomas, a 30-year-old mom of three in Houston, Texas, has confessed to murdering her two younger children, according to a report by KTRK-TV News in that city, and in a courtroom in Monday, prosecutors revealed horrifying new details of the chilling fashion in which she carried out her unthinkable crimes on Friday. The official cause of death will be announced after an autopsy has been performed on each of the children.
