Miracle recovery defies explanation for drowning toddler
Alise, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, was playing after school with her friends before the pool was cleared.
Jamie jumped in and dragged her daughter out, but the little girl was unresponsive.
Alise was enjoying a pool party with friends when she took her life jacket off and disappeared from her mother’s side.
Dr Jeremy Garret said both her body and her brain had been seriously hurt.
“I did a pool check, did not see her”, she said.
She did a second look around the pool and that was when she noticed her daughter’s foot sticking out from under a raft. “Something took over me”, Ms Nipper said. “I remember jumping across the pool, coming up and shouting, “dial 911”, Jamie told KFVS.
“She was pale, no color, had no life”, said another family friend, Natika Rowles.
Nipper immediately started performing CPR and Heather Kyle, a friend, began to help.
But by the time the ambulance arrived Alise’s heartbeat had returned to the amazement of the women.
“She all of the sudden had colour and pink lips”, Ms Nipper recalled. “Her heart started and she started breathing, it was strong, loud breaths”, she added.
When she was transported to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, doctors there were also feeling hopeless.
DOCTORS IN THE United States are at a loss to explain the case of Alise Nipper.
Since no one knew how long Alise had been underwater, the lack of oxygen to her brain was potentially devastating.
Alise’s parents believe that the prayers caused their daughter’s full recovery despite suffering serious traumatic injuries to the brain and body.
‘Her lungs took on severe injury which continued to be a problem, ‘ he told KFVS-TV.
Jamie updated it often, giving everyone a chance to digitally walk alongside her family on Alise’s journey. Not only did she recover from the accident, but she returned to the pool only two months later. After two weeks, she was able to go home.
Prayer chains started, and a Facebook page was set up for followers to follow the family and Alise’s progress.
A Missouri family is thanking God for the miraculous recovery of their three-year-old daughter, who they feared had suffered a life-ending drowning in a family swimming pool. She stayed in an intensive care unit and was fully conscious within a week.
