Miranda Lambert wraps up in one of two fur coats
The negative feedback became so widespread that it prompted a response from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), which said it was dissapointed in Lambert’s Christmas gift, given her natural predilection to help animals.
Lambert’s grandmother had gifted her with a pair of her own fur coats for Christmas.
Lambert has, nonetheless, chased creatures some time recently, incorporating with ex Blake Shelton, 39.
“I’m an animal lover, BUT…this coat was already made, passed down from her adorable grandmother that she loves to pieces, and I think she should be proud of the coat!” wrote one.
“I’m truly astounded that you would advance such an unfeeling industry”.
Lambert didn’t address the criticisms directly, but did follow up her initial post with another one, of herself with her grandmother and a photograph close-up of the lining of the coat, which features her grandmother’s name, Wanda Coker.
PETA was quick to comment regarding the photograph, in a statement to E!
“Her name embroidered inside is priceless”, Lambert’s caption read. “A family heirloom I will cherish forever”, Lambert wrote.
“We had higher hopes”.
Lambert and her mother, Bev, are co-founders of the MuttNation Foundation, which aims to “end animal cruelty, neglect and homelessness” and supports animal shelters and promotes pet adoption events and spay and neuter campaigns. After getting a divorce from her husband of four years, Blake Shelton, the “Little Red Wagon” singer is in the hot seat for a photo she posted after Christmas. If the coat already exists and some animal had to die, why harass someone for putting it to use?
“Sending love from my mutts and me!” she captioned on a picture of her five dogs – Jessi, Waylon, Bellamy, Cher and Delta – adding the hashtags, “#familyportrait #lovecomesinallsizes #seasonsgreenies #happyhowlidays and #dontforgetloveashelterpet”.
