Miss America Pageant Apologizes to Vanessa Williams

“I had tears in my eyes”, said celebrity judge Danica McKellar (Winnie from “Wonder Years”) during a press conference after the show. But that’s not all – Miss America CEO Sam Haskell III also stood on stage and made a dramatic apology to the former pageant queen. Before he passed away, the two would often watch the Miss America pageant together. Seven weeks before the end of her reign, Williams resigned the crown in the midst of a nude photo scandal and was replaced by runner-up Suzette Charles.

Talent, beauty and a little hemorrhoid ointment to de-puff the eyes will win you the title of Miss America.

Cantrell wants to devote her time as Miss America to promote healthy exercise and eating choices, especially for children in America. She was, however, stripped of her crown after photos of her posing nude for Penthouse magazine before the pageant surfaced.

The 52-year-old actress & entertainer was topped Miss America back in 1983, still was forced to resign when photographs of her with no garments on leaked to the general public.

Miss Georgia, Betty Cantrell, won the title as the new Miss America Sunday night at the pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Haskell said, “On behalf of today’s organization, I want to apologize to you and to your mother, Helen Williams”.

Fuller, who grew up in Attleboro, said she was expecting to get questioned about Tom Brady during her interviews, but it never came. “I’m so honored to be back”.

It seems an opera performance worked again in her favor. “Much better than the heels I’ve been wearing all week”.

Cantrell said she’d have to be there to see and feel out the footballs herself, but noted that if there was any question about the inflation of the balls, she’d have to say he cheated.
