Miss Colombia Recalls ‘Humiliating’ Miss Universe Mix-Up
The Colombian beauty queen who was briefly crowned Miss Universe is making the best of what she calls a humiliating situation. “Very few people have communicated with me”, the 22-year-old told Colombia’s W Radio on Wednesday, explaining why she’s been mostly silent about the incident.
During the Fox telecast, Harvey incorrectly named Gutierrez as Miss Universe and shortly after expressed that he had misread the card that had listed Miss Philippines as the victor and Gutierrez as the first runner-up.
After video of Steve Harvey’s epic blunder went viral, millions of viewers watched and laughed as Miss Colombia was award the victor and then stripped of her crown on live television.
“It is been so hard for me”. Both Miss Colombiaaka Ariadna Gutierrezand Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach have spoken out in a graceful manner about what happened, but as it turns out, Miss Colombia isnt feeling so graceful anymore.
“There are a thousand ways to do things”.
Miss Colombia is not counting out the possibility that the Miss Universe pageant was rigged. “I say that I’m a woman with a weak heart who will be psychologically traumatized for life”, she added.
She said she would not let anyone take away the fact that she was announced as the victor first.
Miss Colombia said she finally agreed with Donald Trump on something he said when he revealed that he thought two Miss Universe titles should have been doled out this year.
Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez has spoken out about the recent Miss Universe crowning mix-up for the first time, calling it a “great injustice”.
Meanwhile, aside from Ariadna, fellow Latina contestants of Miss Universe 2015 confessed that they were disappointed of the gaffe.
“In the last three weeks we were together, I saw how strong and handsome you are inside and out”. I know I still have much to learn and a huge responsibility ahead of me.So thank you 2015 and bring it on, 2016!
