Miss Colombia speaks out on Miss Universe flap
The only thing that crossed her mind when it happened was that Mr Harvey was joking.
In her first interview about the incident, she called the whole episode a great injustice and that to stand before the cameras while the hard-fought crown was removed from her was not fair, CNN reported.
Speaking to Colombia’s W radio, Gutierrez said the experience was “humiliating”.
Gutierrez refused to speak to press following the epic clusterf***, but finally opened up to a Colombian radio station about the trauma she’s endured on Wednesday. “It was very humiliating for me, but also for the whole country and for all the people not only from Colombia but the other Latinos that were in the auditorium”.
Harvey’s gaffe lead to the crown being taken away from Ariadna four minutes after it was placed on her head and handed to the correct victor in front of millions of viewers.

“They did not do things the right way”, Gutiérrez said of the way the error was handled. Job offers are pouring in, she said, and a number of opportunities to work in the United States have come up.
While she did say that she agreed with Donald Trump when he said that she and Miss Philippines should have been co-winners, she proudly declares, “I managed to make history which I think is more important than winning the Miss Universe title“.
Shortly after the pageant she thanked her fans for all the support and wished Miss Philippines all the best in an Instagram photo. “I dreamed to give that joy not only to my family but also to all Colombia, but I have to continue my life”.
