Miss Spain Mireia Lalaguna Royo Miss World 2015 victor
The 65th Miss World pageant took place at the Crown of Beauty Theatre in Sanya, China.
“Just because I am handsome on the outside does not mean I am not lovely on the inside, too”, she said, after she won, according to the United Kingdom newspaper The Telegraph.
During the question and answer portion, she was asked why she should win the Miss World title.
Mireia Lalaguna Royo was announced as the victor of the competition for 2015 this afternoon. Miss Jamaica, Sanneta Myrie, 24, and Miss Lebanon, Valerie Abou Chacra, 23, were in the top five. Sofia Nikitchuk of Russian Federation and Maria Harfanti of Indonesia were the first and second runners-up, respectively.
Royo, who comes from Barcelona, is studying pharmacology in hopes of one day starting her own business in nutrition and dietetics.
“I believe in a strong victor, I think I have something inside my heart, that I can show the world”, she replied. Miss World Talent went to Miss Guyana, Lisa Punch, World Designer went to Miss Vietnam, and Sports and Fitness victor was Miss Namibia, Steffi Van Wyk. Traditionally, the newly crowned Miss World will spend their winning year in London and travel around the globe representing the Miss World Organization.
