Missing 6-Year-Old Texas Girl Spotted In Louisiana
Louisiana State Police have issued an endangered/missing child alert on behalf of the Harris County, TX, Sheriff’s Office for a 6-year-old girl taken by Harvey Eugene York Jr. of Zwolle, LA.
Alexis “Lexi” Johnson was reported missing Sunday in Houston, Texas.
Johnson is believed to be with Harvey Eugene York Jr., 40. He allegedly grabbed the child during the argument, and fled in a 2000 Ford F-150 pickup truck, with Louisiana license plate number F163202. York is not Lexi’s father.
York and Johnson’s mother broke up a few months ago.
“I thought he was getting a few of my stuff out the truck and telling her bye and the next thing we knew, he cranked the truck up and left with her. So we jumped in the truck and chased him”, Misty Howard, Alexis’s mother, told NBC affiliate KFOR.
She is a white female, with shoulder length brown hair and blue eyes.
York is described as a white man with brown hair and green eyes. However, Lexi Johnson and her alleged kidnapper haven’t been found.
Several agencies including Louisiana State Police, Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) participated in the search. The mother called the sheriff’s office and York took the girl into the woods, according to Sabine Parish officials. “He’s about 5’7” and weighs 160 pounds.
Police have now issued an Amber Alert and are appealing for anyone to contact them if they have seen the missing pair.
