Missing woman’s body ‘found’
AN autopsy will be carried out on the body of a woman thought to be that of missing Melbourne mother Penny Bailey, which was found in the city’s east on Thursday night. She would not comment on his condition or the nature of his arrest. He is under police guard in a Melbourne hospital.
The Kerr family is a much-loved part of the Carlton Football Club, the Blues say.
The son of Melbourne woman Penny Bailey has been charged with her murder.
But a witness to the arrest told the Nine Network that Mr Bailey was wearing only underpants when police restrained and then arrested him on Smithfield Road in Flemington.
Ms Bailey was last seen in “good spirits” on Sunday when she had dinner with one of her daughters.
“We would also like to thank the Victoria Police for their professionalism and the caring and sensitive manner in which they conducted their investigations”.
Victoria Police homicide squad detectives set up a crime scene at the Mont Albert North home Ms Bailey shared with Mr Bailey on Wednesday.
After being charged, Bailey was removed from the secure hospital and brought to court, where his lawyer Christopher Dane QC said he’d prefer if Bailey was not forced to come up from the cells.
BAGS of evidence have been taken from the home of a missing Melbourne mother and son.
Mr Bailey was found after being spotted on CCTV in the CBD on Wednesday morning after he failed to report to police, despite being summoned.
PENELOPE Bailey, 59, was reported missing from her flat in Mont Albert on Tuesday night and police are searching for her and her son Stephen, 34.
Her son, Stephen, has been charged with her murder.
“I do know a few members of the family personally; they are very close and very respected”.
