Missouri football players, including top freshman recruit Terry Beckner
Missouri lost one of its best players for the season this summer when junior defensive tackle Harold Brantley was severely injured in a June 21 vehicle accident.
Defensive tackle Terry Beckner Jr., wide receiver DeSean Blair, wide receiver Keyon Dilosa and running back Trevon Walter, were all hurt in the crash.
Beckner and Dilosa were treated and released at the scene. They were not transported to the hospital.
Columbia Fire Department Battalion Chief Stephen Potter said the woman driving the other auto involved also was transported to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
David Morrison of the Columbia Daily Tribune tweeted this photo of Missouri coach Gary Pinkel at the scene of the accident. Walters is recovering from spring knee surgery and hasn’t played in a game this season.
According to Moller’s statement, the status of the four players will likely not be known until Saturday.
Beckner, a decorated freshman (and five-star recruit according to 247 Sports) out of East St. Louis, Illinois is a key reserve and has recorded four tackles through two games. Dilosa, a redshirt freshman from Round Rock, Texas, started the season opener and has three catches for 25 yards.
This is the second auto accident involving Missouri football players in recent months.
