Missouri man held Brooklyn teen against her will, police say
Police said they believed she ran away but her parents anxious that she was being held against her will. She was last seen on November 8 when she left her Brooklyn, Ohio home to tie up the family dog.
According to KSDK-TV, a 41-year-old man has been arrested, but no charges have yet been filed.
Police in the Cleveland suburb of Brooklyn say Alexis Boroviak was found Tuesday night in Warren County, Missouri. Deputies say they’re executing search warrants.
Using information from the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and Missouri Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, police rescued her about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday from the dwelling in the 1500 block of South Lake Sherwood Drive, about 45 miles northwest of St. Louis.
He made an initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Missouri on Wednesday. “She had clearly informed friends and extended family members of her intention, but did not offer any solid information as to her intended destination”, Brooklyn Police Chief Scott Mielke said.
Schroeder drove to OH in early November, picked up the girl and took her back to Missouri, telling her along the way that he planned to have sex with her, the complaint said.
The suspect is facing federal charges and transporting a minor from OH to Missouri to engage in criminal sexual activity.
