Mistress of former National Football League player kills his wife, then herself
Police said that Lisa Brown had kidnapped Sandra Barnett from her home on Wednesday.
Chester called a co-worker to check on Sandra, and when he arrived, according to a police report, he spotted a suspicious woman on the premises. The mistress of Buster Barnett, 56, reportedly abducted the former Buffalo Bills player’s wife, Sandra Barnett, 58, on July 15, and fatally shot her before taking her own life. Upset at the discovery, Brown started placing a plan together to kidnap her lover’s wife.
Both women were school teachers. It is believed that Brown and Buster Barnett had been having a long term affair.
The former Atlanta Public Schools teacher was frustrated that she did not previously know about the trip.
The SUV, which was in Buster Barnett’s name, stopped in the middle of an interstate where Brown shot Mrs Barnett before turning the gun on herself, authorities say. The Alabama Bureau of Investigation has taken the case, according to the report.
Officials said the vehicle was spotted Thursday in west Georgia and was chased into Alabama. We’re told his wife, 58-year-old Sandra Barnett, is originally from Mississippi, also.
A friend heard an altercation between the tight end’s wife and supposed mistress over the phone as Brown allegedly stormed into the house with a gun.
Officer Charlene Watson-Fraser, Clayton Police spokesperson, said that Brown then went to the Barnetts’ home in Ellenwood, Georgia.
“A couple times, she would see her vehicle parked out in front of her door, calling her, and emailing her, texting her”, said Ruby Chester, a friend of Barnett’s.
