Mitsubishi eX concept to be unveiled at Tokyo Motor Show
Mitsubishi has unveiled its eX compact SUV concept electric vehicle ahead of its debut at the Tokyo Motor Show.
Simply called the eX Concept, the new creation is a compact SUV which features a mix of compact SUV and shooting brake styling – according to Mitsubishi. Thanks to new high-output electric motors which are light and more efficient, this crossover can travel 250 miles on a single charge.
Not entirely expected, the concept does feature all-wheel-drive, and judging by the available images it seems to be about the same size as a Nissan Juke. Both the exterior and interior indicate the direction Mitsubishi’s design team is taking.
The vehicle is also bringing the sloping roofline and the five-door body style, along with the shaved door handles, the privacy glass all round, the small side mirrors and the large wheels. The automaker didn’t specify if the batteries could be used in place of portable generators, similar to the Honda FCV’s portable generator concept. In fact the entire booth, wherein the Mitsubishi eX concept will be displayed, will reflect the theme of “Driving Beyond-Another Step Forward With SUVs and Electric Power”. The data can also be shared with other cars in the area via v2v communication.
