MK Dons to take Southampton youngster Gallagher on loan
The Dons now only have Dean Bowditch and Simon Church as fully recognised strikers and are in desperate need of new signings to give them a boost next season.
Just a few days ago reports began to surface suggesting that Milton Keynes Dons had launched a £150,000 bid for Chesterfield midfielder, Sam Morsy, which was swiftly rejected by the League One club.
Newly-promoted Championship side MK Dons have secured the season-long loan signing of young striker Sam Gallagher from Southampton.
Gallagher has made 18 league appearances for Southampton and has scored one Premier League goal in that time.
Manager Ronald Koeman is convinced the youngster can still have a future at St Mary’s but believes a season of regular football will benefit Gallagher.
Devon-born Gallagher switched global allegiance from Scotland, for whom he played at Under-19 level, to England in 2014.
“He’s a really talented player and it wasn’t something I thought we’d have the opportunity of doing”, Robinson told the club website.
There is still hope that the Dons could force Chesterfield’s hand as Morsy’s contract with the club is set to expire after the season, making it imperative for them to not lose him on a free transfer. What other players would you like to see join the Dons?
