MMA: Ronda Rousey Becomes The First MMA Competitor To Host SNL
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) star has been tapped to host the January 23 episode of NBC’s Saturday Night Live in NY.
No one will deny that Rousey is the UFC’s biggest draw but she needs to focus on that and that alone. And when asked when Rousey would fight, White wrote, “All gonna depend on timing”.

While the attention here mostly lies in the fact that Holm will defend her title for the first time against someone other than Rousey, it’s important to take note of White’s full statement.
Tate is riding a four fight win streak and was actually promised a title shot against Rousey before the UFC opted to place Holm in the fight instead. “Holly Holm will fight before she fights Ronda”, White said.
“Eight months is a long time between fights, and I don’t want to wait that long”, Holm told ESPN. And an MMA fighter has never hosted.
Rousey refused to show her face to the paparazzi when leaving the Los Angeles airport days after her defeat. They fought in 2012 on Strikeforce, and then in 2013 at UFC 168, with Rousey winning by submission in both matches.
The former UFC champion previously debuted new ink on both wrists, a kodokan flower on her right and octagon on her left, both of which are present in the SI snap.
Holm’s job is to execute an even better game plan to beat Rousey and leave no doubt who is the tue champion. It was a very dominating performance but it’s also it’s own fight.
But the former UFC champ sounds like she’s dwelling on the former part a bit, which jibes with multiple reports about her state of mind since suffering the first loss of her meteoric career.
