The officer’s dash camera captured the incident, and police said it indicated Taylor fired three shots.

Taylor continued to stack more reported problems, according to federal court records, including a domestic assault incident, when his girlfriend said he beat her for, “refusing to have sex with Taylor”. Both men are expected to survive.

The shooter fled the scene but was apprehended nearby by several officers from other police departments.

Also on Friday, a gunman in a stolen SUV opened fire on a white police officer in Rosell, Ga. His family is at the hospital.

“I tried to help the officer”, the witness said. “He’s in stable condition but he’s in the ICU as a precaution”.

And in Tennessee, a man accused of shooting indiscriminately at passing cars and police on a highway told investigators he was angry about police violence against African-Americans, authorities said.

Missouri congresswoman Ann Wagner tweeted, “Please join me in praying for the @BallwinPolice officer shot this morning & all our law enforcement officers”.

Police say they don’t yet have a possible motive in the shooting. All those shot were white, police said.

The officer was reportedly shot three times at 11 a.m. local time after having pulled a vehicle over for speeding, KDSK reported.
