Mo Williams says he’s returning to Cleveland and LeBron
In 11 years, Williams has already played for seven National Basteball Association franchises.
Well, technically the two are not yet again a pair.
Williams, of course, is reuniting with LeBron James. Sports. The deal is said to be for two years and $4.3 million. With the Cavs adding Williams, that could mean they aren’t going to be able to get Jamal Crawford and Joe Johnson. Another player Cleveland was considering to sign with its taxpayer exemption, veteran big man David West, signed Monday with San Antonio instead. Williams spent two-and-a-half seasons in Cleveland between 2008 and 2011.
The guard was also an All-Star for the Cavs in 2009. James himself is technically a free agent, having opted out of his contract with Cleveland, but it is widely assumed that he will return to Cleveland once it has solidified the rest of the roster.
Negotiations have stalled between Thompson and the Cavs, according to multiple sources, with no timeline for a deal.
On his second tour with the Cavaliers, Williams will be counted on to back up starting point guard Kyrie Irving, who is recovering from a severe knee injury that knocked him out of the National Basteball Association Finals after Game 1. Dellavedova is a restricted free agent.
