Mobile HTC One M9 Android 5.1 Update Goes Live for Download
The Sony Xperia Z-Series users were one of the last to get the Android 5.0 Lollipop compared to the other brands of smartphones but Sony seems to be determined to make it up to them by rushing out the Android 5.1 Lollipop. Check the notifications menu starting today and see if there are any new firmware files ready for download. The update will bump the phone to software version 2.7.531.6 and it includes Android 5.1, anti-theft, Google Wallet, and battery improvements.
Set a screen lock using the PIN, password or lock pattern functions and from then on your device cannot be accessed unless someone removes the whole Google Account from your phone. T-Mobile also recommends that users must charge their smartphone up to at least 50 percent and connect to a Wi-Fi network to download the update to prevent exorbitant charges on mobile data.
Much-wanted battery improvements are promised as part of the update along with factory reset protection. To check if the update is already available, users have to tap the Apps icon on their One M9 and go to Settings, About and Software updates.
Android 5.1 Lollipop also adds updated localization in the form of four additional languages: Danish (Denmark), Finnish (Finland / Sweden), Norwegian, Swedish (Finland / Sweden).
