Mobile’s HTC One M9 now receiving Android 5.1 Lollipop
Of course, Sony has not announced anything about their plans for the Android 5.1 Lollipop, but an industry insider leaked that the Android 5.1 Lollipop is at its last stage of testing.
The unlocked model, its developer edition, as well as the version that AT&T is offering have all received the Android 5.1 Lollipop update already, which means those who are rocking to T-Mobile are still playing the waiting game.
The official changelog can be found here. T-Mobile also mentions the addition of new ant-theft software that prevents unauthorized factory resets, but you’ll need to first have secured your lock screen and have at least 1 Google account logged in.
Much-wanted battery improvements are promised as part of the update along with factory reset protection. Make sure to keep the lockscreen security code secret from everyone, so that you will have a chance to get your device back in case it gets stolen. The carrier is pushing build 2.7.531.6 as an over-the-air update to US handsets as we speak. Starting today, an OTA update is headed your way that should breathe some new life into your device. If there is no notification that prompts the upgrade, users may go to the Software Update section in the Settings app. If manual checking still does not allow for the update to apply, users are encouraged to stay patient and wait for the rollout on their devices as it will surely come in no time.
