Mobile tempting Verizon customers to switch with free year of Hulu
For a limited time, customers switching from Verizon Wireless to T-Mobile will get one year of premium Hulu service for free, redeemable with a gift code.
T-Mobile hopes that it’s latest “Un-carrier” promotion, which is aimed exclusively at Verizon customers, is good enough to push you over the edge. T-Mobile has been giving Sprint customers $200 per line when they switch, on top of other existing financial incentives, and AT&T subscribers who switch through December 13 get a phone memory upgrade and half-off accessories.
Finally, T-Mobile is sweetening its offer by throwing in a half-price discount on all in-store financed accessories such as smartwatches, Bluetooth speakers, headphones and wearables. At a recent investor conference, T-Mobile executives said the carrier doubled the number of its postpaid net additions during the four-day period from Black Friday to Cyber Monday compared to the same period in 2014.
“Verizon customers put up with a lot of sneaky tricks from Big Red these days”. Neither the music nor the video will impact the monthly data allotment. That could cost as much as $40 extra on your Verizon bill, depending on the data plan. In the case of Verizon, there may be overage penalties of $15 if use a single KB over your data limit.
Verizon customers can take part of this Unwrapped deal from December 11 through December 17.
Are you a Verizon customer who binge-watches complete seasons of television shows on Hulu?
And T-Mobile’s promotions appear to be making a dent. Binge On video typically streams at DVD quality (480p or better); you may disable at any time but will lose certain benefits.
