Modern-Day Samurai Cuts 100 miles per hour Baseball in Half
In the video, Machii calmly steps up onto a wooden table so that he’s eye-level with the pitching machine 30 feet away in the batting cage.
In the past, Machii has been filmed slicing BB gun pellets fired toward him, so naturally, taking the top off of an oncoming fastball was a suitable next goal. This time he’s here to cut a fastball in two. Machii has appeared in previous videos doing other ridiculous sword tricks. In this video Machii, only armed with a sword, takes a swipe at ball coming at 161 kph, which is approximately 100 miles per hour! Upon first glance, you truly won’t believe what you just seen, swearing it’s a few type of camera trick or illusion.
Now a Japanese sword master has combined two of his nation’s great loves – baseball and samurai – to deliver the ultimate show of lightning quick reaction. So, at a mere 100 miles per hour, the “fastball” was likely child’s play for Machii.
