Modi is a coward and a psychopath: Delhi CM Kejriwal
However, this isn’t the first time a sitting Chief Minister’s office has been raided. Kejriwal and his party colleagues cried themselves hoarse against the Modi government when the then law minister Tomar was arrested in a fake degree case. “After taking warrants, searches are being conducted in the office and residence of Rajender Kumar”.
Leaving aside the irony of a Congress leader demanding to know whether Emergency has been declared, that’s nearly exactly the same language AAP leaders are spouting after the CBI raid now. When Narendra Modi couldn’t handle me politically, he resorts to this cowardice. “Modi is a coward and psychopath”, he said in another tweet expressing his anguish over the raids. “It is unprecedented that in the name of investigating the accusations against a bureaucrat, the office of the Chief Minister should be sealed and files searched, as alleged by the Chief Minister”, CPI(M) said in a statement.
Jaitley retorted saying that the TMC member earlier said that the Chief Minister’s office was raided and has now changed it to the precincts of the CM’s office. “Let Modi say which file he wants?” he said.
Unlike in much of India, Delhi’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-run local government does not have absolute administrative powers over the state. He said the raids were an assault on the federal structure.
He questioned why CBI never informed the Delhi government before searching the floor of the Chief Minister’s office.
“Fourteen different places have been raided”.
“When CBI is acting against corruption, he is accusing PM of corruption”.
Kejriwal was referring to the October 9 public sacking of Food Minister Asim Ahmed Khan for allegedly demanding bribes from a builder. This was an attempt to check on all the files in the office. In the meantime, CM Kejriwal acted in haste and has tweeted against the Prime Minster, holding him responsible for all this.
When asked, Home Minister Rajnath Singh refused to comment on the issue, however, Venkaiah Naidu slammed AAP for always laying the onus of any issue on Prime Minister’s shoulders. The BJP claims that the bad old days are over, the CBI is now empowered and independent. The timing might have been an unfortunate coincidence but it certainly allowed the Congress to go to town claiming “political vendetta”. How can you criticize the central government and the prime minister?
