Modi pays tribute to Indira Gandhi on birth anniversary
After having impressed the audiences with their stellar performances, Bollywood actors Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Juhi Chawla have been chosen to be honoured with prestigious Indira Gandhi Memorial Award 2015.
Dr. Singh recalled that former prime minister and BJP veteran Atal Bihari Vajpayee had addressed Indira Gandhi as “Durga” in the Parliament when he was the Leader of Opposition.
Well known actor Nawazuddin, who played the lead role in the film “Manjhi: The Mountain Man” is the only male selected in this year’s list, said Mumbai Congress President Sanjay Nirupam. The birth anniversary of Indira Gandhi is celebrated by felicitating leading personalities from different walks of life for their achievements, he added. No cash award or other benefits are carried by this honour.
