Pakistan’s opposition leader Imran Khan today asked Pakistan and India to engage in dialogue through institutional framework even as he termed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s meeting with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi a “conflict of interest”.
To another question, Sartaj Aziz said, all the institutions in Pakistan were on the same page on the issues of national importance.
“Relation with Pakistan is very critical”.

Modi and Nawaz Sharif decided during the unscheduled meeting to have their foreign secretaries meet soon in Islamabad, Pakistan Foreign Secretary Aizaz Chaudhry said.
“The party expresses its deep admiration for the prime minister for his courage, vision, imagination and skill in creating a transformative moment in the sub-continent”, Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson M.J. Akbar told reporters at a press conference. The leaders have met at worldwide events, most recently in Paris during the global climate change talks, that finally led to a visit by India’s foreign minister to Islamabad this month.
Akbar said the depth and extent of positive response to the meeting between the two government heads has been “extremely reassuring” and noted that mainstream political parties in Pakistan and the Left in India had also welcomed it besides the outside world. He also delivered three Mi-25 attack helicopters and 500 new scholarships for “the children of the martyrs of Afghan security forces”, making a point of acknowledging Pakistan’s concerns about the Indian presence in Afghanistan. Modi reached Kabul early on Friday after a two-day visit to Russian Federation. Several insurgent groups have been fighting since 1989 for Kashmir’s independence from India or its merger with Pakistan.
The two countries have tried to minimize tensions since the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, which India says were orchestrated in Pakistan.
It was the first visit to Pakistan by an Indian premier in 12 years.
Shortly thereafter, Modi was seen off by Sharif at the airport.
The last visit to Pakistan by an Indian prime minister was in 2004 by then leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who is credited with bringing about a thaw in relations with Islamabad.
They held talks and chose to open ways for peace for the “larger good” of the people of the two countries.
