Modi visit: Indian PM addresses crowds at Wembley Stadium
Modi, who spoke for over an hour, talked of his government’s plans to launch railway rupee bond in London and raised slogan “James Bond, Brooke Bond and Rupee Bond” to loud cheers from the gathering.
PM Modi had this to say to his loudly cheering crowd.
He said: “This is a historic day”.
The British Prime Minister acknowledged the power called India.
Grateful to PM David Cameron for his kind words. Speaking of the historical ties and complementaries between the two countries, Modi said India-UK are economically made for each other and this relationship has to be driven by private sector CEOs.
Referring to India having 800 million people below 35 years, he said “a country which has so many youth can not stay behind”. India is full of diversity.

“As I stand here my countrymen have handed me a new responsibility”.
World is seeing India as a land of many opportunities.
“India is moving on the path of development at a fast pace”. He later said in a statement: “During this visit, British and Indian companies are announcing new collaborations, together worth more than £9 billion pounds”. After a joint press meet, the Prime Minister will head to see Mahatma Gandhi’s statue at Parliament Square at Westminster.
“Kabir and Rahim have been our inspirations. The Sufi tradition is the best antidote to terrorism”, he said.
“My visit is aimed at strengthening cooperation with a traditional friend that is not only a major economic partner of India but also one of the leading economic players of the world”, Modi said, in a released Tuesday, calling for cooperation in a “range of areas”.
Friday evening he is set to address about 60,000 people from India’s expatriate community in London’s Wembley Stadium. That’s when Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi addresses the 70,000 strong Diaspora. “We’re proud of him. I don’t think we can close the chapter on this”.
“In a country that has suffered a lot because of corruption and misadministration, Modi is regarded as someone who is a clean politician and is somebody who delivers”, said Manoj Ladwa of the Europe India Forum, which organized the Wembley rally. We are working hard to create conducive conditions for this engagement.
“We will harness solar, wind and renewable energy”. India will soon be at par with all developed nations.
