Mom gets mocked for her Christmas tree
Emma Tapping, a UK-based blogger and mother of three, posted a picture of her Christmas tree to Instagram and Facebook recently.
Mrs Tapping defended her decision to spend about £1,500 on her three children and wider family after receiving criticism on social media, with some labelling her “materialistic” and an “attention seeker”.
Emma Tapping, 27, bought 300 presents for her children this year but insists she does not spoil them. I’m not joking. My basement is full and they don’t even miss them.
Tapping said what you buy your children isn’t what will make them spoilt, that depends on how you bring them up.
She confessed she knew there would be a day that would come when her children – who are seven and four – would want expensive technology and said it would be a path they crossed when it came.
A woman in the United Kingdom is defending a photo she posted of presents piled high around her Christmas tree after people began attacking her on Facebook.
Paul Kezza wrote: ‘Getting a child that much stuff is silly. “They will have no appreciate for little things in life”, one person said on Twitter.
But is this really child abuse, as some online trolls have claimed?
“The worst comments were for me were about the kids, the lady that stole the picture knew it must of been a kid’s Christmas tree, hence ‘materialistic parents, ‘ so that was upsetting that people didn’t think about that before judging”.
“I LOVE christmas (sic) I LOVE spoiling my kids in the festive season and I work damn hard to make sure it is every bit as awesome as it can be, ” she wrote on Facebook before issuing an expletive-laden kiss-off to those “judgmental” people.
She added: “Martin money expert, I follow him religiously and I do all the sales”.
“I love Christmas and I shop savvy to give [my kids] a good Christmas”, she told the site.
