Mom Thanks Fetty Wap for Encouraging Son to ‘Be Different’
Though Fetty Wap’s “Trap Queen” dominated the summer and remained steady on the Billboard charts, it’s far from G-Rated.
Users have been trying to get the attention of Fetty Wap by tagging his name on the post, and it has finally reached him. He later had reconstructive surgery and wore a prosthetic eye for many years, but eventually took it out because he “didn’t want to look like everyone else”. The “Trap Queen” vocalist was the center of an Instagram post made by a mother named Brenda Vaden, whose little boy, Jayden, lost his right eye due to the disease. “He has always been terrified of taking it out and would not be caught without it… and then comes along Fetty Wap”, Vaden explained.
“I just try to keep doing music and let them know that I’m here and I’m relevant. Well, today, after weeks of asking, Jayden is venturing the world without his prosthetic”, she writes of the incredible moment. I of course am a wreck because this world can be cruel, but so proud of our Boogies.
“This young rapper unknowingly gave Jayden something we weren’t able to give him-the confidence to be different-and I am grateful to him”, she said. Even worse, there is literally one black kid in the entire video…as the chauffeur, no less.
Last night Fetty Wap appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to promote his debut album.
